Man strikes officer with car after Aldean concert, charged with DUI

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- Hartford police have charged a Fairfield man with multiple offenses including DUI, and evading responsibility after he struck a 19-year veteran of the Hartford police force.

David Mascuto, 51, allegedly struck Officer Joseph Fargnoli Jr. after the Jason Aldean concert at the Xfinity Theater Saturday night.

Mascuto was seen driving erratically by officers conducting traffic detail for the show according to Lt. Brian Foley of the Hartford Police Department.

Officer Fargnoli was attempting to stop the vehicle when he was hit.

He was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries and subsequently released.

Mascuto’s bond has been set at $25,000.
