Report It Recap – Aug. 8, 2014

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — This week’s Report!t Recap highlights how every picture tells a story. Some stories are obvious — like the day Michael was born or the evening a mom and son enjoyed a ballgame. Others are not as obvious — like, what’s the deal with the cows on Route 9? You send us quite a few animal stories each week — from bunnies to bugs to birds to bears.

Your video and pictures helped us tell the story of a hiker who’d been injured in a fall in Cheshire and had to go to the hospital. They also alerted us to the story of the “ Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever See” – which includes a newspaper boat regatta. And we got to tell the nice story of Holly – an Army vet – who needed, and got, a heart transplant and then was adopted by the American Legion Riders one of their own.

We got pictures this week of the refurbished Charles W Morgan’s return to Mystic and from the Kelly family’s reunion. They trace their history to another famous ship — the Titanic. And Paige sent us a neat family shot of cousins on the beach in Milford.

Several of you wondered about the story with what appeared to be an upside down rainbow? It’s a very well-defined circumhorizontal arc. We got several shots of that and some beautiful summer sunsets.
