2 charged with shooting at youth in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Police have charged two New Haven men with shooting at a juvenile in Hamden.

Brandon Shealy, 18, of Shelton Avenue, and Robert Moye, 18, of West Read Street, is charged are each charged with attempted first-degree assault, unlawful discharge of a firearm and carrying a pistol without a permit.

Police said the two and another accomplice shot at the youth on Aug. 4, but hit his clothing. The incident was reported in the area of the 900 block of Dixwell Avenue, near Arch Sreet. The two men were arrested Aug. 7, one on Shelton Avenue and the other, hiding in the basement of a Shepard Street home. Police also seized .380 caliber handgun from a home on Shelton Avenue.

Their bonds were set at $100,000 each for appearances in Meriden Superior Court on Aug. 21.
