Man shot in Bridgeport late Friday

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH) — A man was shot in the shoulder late Friday in Bridgeport.

The wound was non-life-threatening, police said. The incident was reported shortly after 11 p.m., according to police.

Officers responded to St. Vincent’s Medical Center for a shooting, which the victim said happened at Capitol Avenue and Main Street. “[He] provided police with few other details. Police checked the area where the victim said he was shot but found no evidence,” said Police Department Spokesman William Kaempffer.

Hospitals are required to report injuries such as gunshot wounds to police.
