Depression, substance abuse haunted Williams

(WTNH)– Comedian and actor Robin Williams was found dead in his northern California home Monday around noon. The sheriff’s department says it appears to be a suicide.

While Williams had great fame, he also battled severe bouts of depression. In 2006, he admitted to abusing drugs and alcohol in an interview with Diane Sawyer.

In his life, he made us laugh. But, that may not be the legacy he leaves behind. While he will always be remembered for his humor, the world may remember him more because of his depression, and how it led to his demise.
