Police seize 1/4 pound of marijuana

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH) — Police seized more than four ounces of marijuana recently following a motor vehicle stop.

The driver of the vehicle, Connor Hope, 19, of Quercus Avenue in Willimantic, was arrested at the scene, and later charged with possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Police said the officer saw a car headed toward Main Street commit a motor vehicle violation, and stopped it on Jackson Street. The officer smelled a “strong odor” of marijuana, and K-9 Sasa found about 4.4 ounces of marijuana in a freezer bag inside the car, police said.

Hope was later released after posting a $5,000.00 bond and will appear in Danielson Superior Court on Aug. 15, 2014.
