Shoplifter swings purse at employees

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)– A Middletown woman is facing charges are police say she was caught stealing from a Rite-Aide pharmacy.

34-year-old Crystal Davis-Lopez is charged with Breach of Peace 2nd, Larceny 6th, Threatening and Robbery 3rd. According to officials, Davis-Lopez stole items from Rite-Aide pharmacy located on Main in Street, when she was approached by staff of the store, she attempted to swing her purse containing the stolen items at them and threatened them.

Police apprehended Davis-Lopez as she fled from the store. The items stolen by Davis-Lopez were various Hygiene products which totaled $300. Davis-Lopez was held on $10,000 bond.

According to officials, Davis-Lopez does have multiple past convictions including Larceny, Burglary, Narcotics, Failure to Appear and other various, Misdemeanor and Felony Charges.
