WEST HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) – A crumpled pile of metal is all that was left of a motorcycle sitting in the middle of interstate 84 right before exit 44 Thursday afternoon, in a crash that killed one person and seriously injured another.

State Police tell News 8 that just before 4 p.m., a car hit a motorcycle with two people on it. One person who saw the wreckage, neighbor Kyle Pena-Green, called it a “a horrific accident.”

The driver of the car was unscathed. In fact, police say for some reason they kept their foot on the gas, continuing to move along the roadway after hitting the bike. However, the car was stopped by authorities a short distance from the crash site.

The identities of those involved have not been released.
