Man improving after he was hit by a car Tuesday

CANTON, Conn. (WTNH) – A man is recovering after he was hit by a car Aug. 12 on Simonds Avenue at 9:16 p.m., local police said Thursday.

The man has been identified as Mark Barney, 32, of Canton. He was airlifted by Life Star medical helicopter to Hartford Hospital, where his condition was upgraded to non-life-threatening injuries. A 911 caller alerted officers, according to police.

No arrests have been made in the case, which remains under investigation by the Canton Police Department and the North Central Municipal Accident Reconstruction Squad, police said.
