Former church youth group leader spared jail in sex assault

NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH) — A former New Canaan church youth group leader who had sex with a 15-year-old boy was spared jail and must register as a sex offender for 10 years.

Morgan Frawley, 25, received a suspended 10-year sentence on Friday. She is also banned from having any contact with minors for 10 years. She could have faced a more severe sentence but the court nolled a charge of second-degree sexual assault.

She was arrested Oct. 25, 2013, after it was discovered she exchanged many sexually explicit photos and text messages with teen, according to police.
