Reports of New Britain evicting Rock Cats

Rock cats lawsuit

NEW BRITAIN,Conn. (WTNH)–The drama is heating up between the Rock Cats and the city of New Britain.

As the team looks to move to Hartford in a few years, there are reports New Britain is looking to evict them. The Hartford Courant reports the team is suing the city over it. It all comes down to money, specifically taxes and back rent the team owes.

The Courant says the team is hoping a legal team can get the cost lowered. But it could impact the season.

The Rock Cats play their last game on September 1st the day after the money’s due. The team also has a contract with the city through next season.
