Motorcycle crash shuts down Derby Ave. in West Haven

WEST HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Two people were injured in a motorcycle accident that closed Derby Avenue in West Haven this afternoon.

Police say they responded to the area of Derby Avenue westbound and Plainfield Avenue to a motorcycle accident with injuries around 4:14 p.m.

An investigation determined that a male motorcyclist with a female passenger lost control of the motorcycle and struck the median guardrail. The man suffered a traumatic head injury and the woman suffered a broken arm and lacerations. Both were taken to area hospitals.

Derby Avenue was shutdown westbound at Forest Road. The accident is under investigation.
