(WTNH)– President and Founder Christine Willett from After the Storm, Inc brings in models to show some of the bras that will be up for auction at the Art Bra Runway Show on August 21st.
After the Storm was founded in 2009, two years after Willett started treatment for breast cancer. She was diagnosed at the age of 30 when she was pregnant with her son, Chase. Middlesex Cancer Center had just started their integrative medicine program, and she began to try some of their services (yoga, reiki, massage, acupuncture). She found that she felt better not just physically, but emotionally too.
These services are not covered by insurance and are costly for survivors to pay for. That’s where After the Storm steps in. Since 2009, they have been able to donate over $155,000 to Middlesex, Midstate, and Griffin Hospital.
The Art Bra Runway Show will be held on August 21st at the Toyota Presents Oakdale Theatre. Food, drinks, and fun begin at 6:30 p.m. and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
