STORRS, Conn. (WTNH)– A bomb threat evacuated the admission’s building at UConn, today. The scene has been cleared.

A UConn spokesperson says just before 11 a.m., a vague threat was called into the admissions building, called The Tasker Building, located on Hillside Road. The building was evacuated.

The building, which is near the student union and field house, would normally have about 50 people inside it. But UConn says it’s a quiet time with vacations and students not back yet so there were probably fewer people involved.

The rest of the campus was not impacted by the threat.  UConn police are investigating the incident.

Earlier, the UConn Transportation Services posted on their Facebook, “Due to the current bomb threat at the Tasker Building, UConn buses and AVS vans are being brought back to Transportation or are sheltering in place. We apologize for the inconvenience and will start them back up as quickly as possible. Thank you!”
