North Haven fire damages hotel rooms

NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Fire Marshals are investigating a fire at the North Haven Best Western hotel.

It happened on Tuesday just before 6:30 p.m.

Crews arrived on the scene and found an air conditioning unit on fire on the first floor. The smoke filled a few rooms on both the first and second floors and the hotel was being evacuated.

Guests were allowed to return to their rooms within an hour. No one was hurt, and now investigators are working to figure out what caused the fire.
