NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — A New London man pleaded guilty to federal drug charges in court yesterday.

Edgardo Centeno, 43, was busted as part of a investigation that began two years ago. Court documents show, Homeland Security Investigations, Secret Service and local police teamed up to investigate a big drug trafficking ring from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico to Connecticut.

Centeno was one of more than 100 people facing charges in connection with the ring. In court it was revealed, he received cocaine from another man in deals made over the phone.

Centeno will be sentenced in November. He’s facing up to 20 years in prison.
