Newington crash leaves one dead

NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — A three-car crash killed one person Thursday. He has been identified as David Buckhout, 59, of West Hartford.

Four occupants of the three vehicles were taken to Hartford Hospital by ambulance, and Buckhout later died, police said. Police did not identify any of the Thursday afternoon, and the survivors’ conditions were not immediately available.

The crash occurred at 1:12 p.m. at Stoddard Avenue and Main Street, and the investigation was turned over to the Mid-State Accident Investigation Team. Stoddard Avenue remains closed between Main Street and Walrege Road, police said.
