NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A New Haven man is accused of promising a video game system trade over Craig’s List but giving rocks instead.

Daryl Johnson, 19, of Quinnipiac Avenue, is charged with sixth-degree larceny. Police said Johnson and another person agreed over Craig’s List to exchange video game systems on July 2. When the recipient checked, he found that the box contained rocks, police said.

“Police seized the gaming system from Johnson during a separate, unrelated investigation the same day,” police said. Johnson was released on a written promise to appear in New Haven Superior Court on Sept. 16.
