After school program “Rain of Hope” empowering local kids

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — Jennifer Ricker is changing the world, one child at a time with her non-profit after-school program called “Rain of Hope.”

The program, just a year old now, is empowering kids to take control of their lives and send out positive messages. Ricker told her idea to Dr. Laura Bower-Phipps, a professor of elementary education at Southern Connecticut State University. And she, in turn, got her students involved.

The program is already in schools in New Haven and Hamden.
