Man injured by boat propeller in Stamford

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH)– A man was injured by a boat propeller in the water off Stamford, Tuesday evening.

Police say the accident happened near a boat from Stamford in the middle of Long Island Sound. The victim is an adult male who was wake-boarding when he was somehow hit by the propeller. His back and arm were injured.

Officials say people in the boat helped the victim with the bleeding until the fire department arrived to bandage him. He was sent by ambulance to Stamford Hospital.

The cause of the accident is unknown at this time.
