Police converge on Waterford neighborhood

WATERFORD, Conn. (WTNH)- Two homes on Applewood Dr. in Waterford had to be evacuated Tuesday after reports of shots fired.

According to the New London Day, A next-door neighbor said he heard a large booming sound around 10:45 a.m., and shortly afterward police arrived. Neighbors told police that a local resident occasionally fires a cannon to scare off sea gulls. Lt. Stephen Bellos said they are investigating that neighbor now.

Bellos said there are no injuries or arrests to report at this time, and police are not actively looking for suspects.
