DERBY, Conn. (WTNH)-Today U.S Marshalls located 36-year old Dardian Celaj and turned him over to Derby Police for processing. Celaj was wanted for failure to appear and is now being held on a court set bond of $1 million, cash only.

The man, known as “Danny,” pleaded guilty to raping a woman who worked in a Derby social club that is now closed.
“I’ve stated in the past, he’s a very dangerous individual based on his previous convictions in the federal system for crimes involving organized crime in New York and New Jersey,” said State’s Attorney Kevin Lawlor.

Lawlor said Celaj was suppose to be wearing a GPS ankle bracelet. “In this particular case, we did have a lesson learned as far as gaps in the system that I’m not personally aware of where the fault lies at this point but I know the judicial branch is looking into this very seriously,” Lawlor said.

Celaj is expected to be arraigned at Derby Superior Court Friday morning.
