Attorney: Wilton schools didn’t tell police about sex abuse allegations

WILTON, Conn. (WTNH) – A former teacher’s aid with the Wilton Public School District named Eric Von Kohorn is under arrest after it was discovered he was in possession of child pornography. And Thursday News 8 learned there were accusations made in January 2013 he had also inappropriately touched a preschooler. According to an attorney representing the family of that child district officials were notified about what allegedly took place but nothing they say was done.

Even Police are telling us they too were kept out of the loop. Issuing the following statement;

“The Wilton Police Department was not notified of the complaint in January 2013. The department was made aware of this incident subsequent to the arrest of Mr. Von Kohorn and is now investigating it.”

For two days we’ve reached out to the Superintendent of Wilton, Dr. Kevin Smith looking for answers. Today alone we stopped by his office and were told by a secretary he wasn’t there.
An hour and 15 minutes later we sent him an email asking to speak, he never responded. So 45 minutes after that we called him on the phone and this time were told he was on the line with someone else, all while sitting feet from his place of work.

Dr. Smith may not be speaking but those who live in this community say its there hope he does soon because they want answers.

“So first he’s not there and then he’s there but he’s on the phone?” said Wilton resident, Ben Halladay. “Ya I think you guys have to press ahead with this I mean there is a lot at stake.”
