Road safety stats from Labor Day weekend

(WTNH)– Labor Day weekend is coming to a close and police have been busy keeping the roads safe for you since Friday.

So far more than 1,100 speeding tickets have been handed out. There were more than a hundred seatbelt violations and nearly 2,500 hazardous moving violations like using a cell phone.

Additionally, there were 27 driving under the influence arrests. And more than 200 accidents with 23 injuries, thankfully none of them were fatal, except for Saturday’s crash in Lime Rock Park race track in Salisbury.
