Seal flipper found on New Haven beach

Generic seal

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — A bizarre discovery at a New Haven beach is under investigation.

Police received a call from beachgoers that a foot had been discovered in the sand. Turns out, it was actually a foreflipper from a seal.

Environmentalists are looking into how the animal died.

They say in recent years there has been a resurgence of seals in our area, which they say is good for biodiversity and will help the popularity of New England’s seal watch tours.
