NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — The new Exit 48 ramp from I-95 southbound to I-91 northbound in New Haven is now open, but you may encounter delays this morning.
Road crews for the Connecticut Department of Transportation spent the overnight hours putting the finishing touches on the new ramp. The exit and one lane of traffic were closed all night as the exit moves from its current location farther up the road next to Exit 47, the ramp to downtown New Haven and Route 34.
Delays are expected as drivers looking for the ramp at its old location find it somewhere else. Signs are in place to alert drivers to the change.
After this change, there will be no more traffic on the old Q-Bridge. A section of the old bridge had been used for the exit ramp.
