Fairfield woman struck by bike in NYC

NEW YORK (AP) — A Connecticut woman is in critical condition after she was struck by a cyclist in Central Park.

The NYPD says it happened around 4:30 p.m. Thursday near 62nd Street on West Drive.

They say 59-year-old Jill Tarlov of Fairfield, Connecticut suffered head trauma and was taken to NewYork Presbyterian-Weill Cornell Medical Center.

Tarlov is a former employee of radio station 1010 WINS and the wife of Mike Wittman, a senior vice president with CBS.

Peter Dunn, the president of CBS Television Stations, said the organization is “shocked and saddened by the horrible and senseless tragedy.”

The 31-year-old cyclist remained on the scene. No charges were filed.

Police say he suffered minor injuries to his shoulder and hand and was treated at a hospital and released.
