East Hampton, Conn. (WTNH) — A fire destroyed an East Hampton home late Friday morning.

The fire is at a home on Ola Avenue, off of Lake Drive near Lake Pocotopaug. A Report It picture sent to News 8 shows the home consumed by flames. The fire is now out.

There is no information yet on whether anyone was inside the home. A News 8 crew is on the scene getting more information about what happened.

There was initial word that the fire was caused by an exploding propane tank. That’s not the cause.

A few miles away in Portland, firefighters were called out to a fire at a single family home on PenField Hill Road. That fire is now out. We don’t know what caused that fire.
