Report It Recap – Sept. 19, 2014

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — They say “seeing is believing” and this past week we saw quite a bit. Some of it was beautiful; some of it was unusual.

We saw our share of crashes, a fire in Middlefield and other news, like the power outage which darkened a North Haven shopping plaza last weekend. We also pictures which helped verify the story of the bobcat sighting in Woodbridge, the bear spotted by Arianna in Bethany and the fish “this big” caught by some fishermen on Sunday.

We got several photos from Connecticut Day at the Big E – of the food and the festivities. We also got video of the Wishes on Wheels event for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and Operation Save-A-Life which helps fire departments get smoke detectors into the hands of people who need them.

They were some beautiful sunsets this week and some of the photos we got look like paintings with the vibrant colors and gorgeous settings. And when the sun set, the sky show continued. Diana in Woodbury may have captured the Northern Lights in her photo.

But the picture of the week came from Kathy. She found an odd-shaped eggplant in her garden. And we had a little fun with it. You’ll have to see it to believe it.
