Fall hikes are one of my most anticipated things to do every year. The temperatures are cooler, the air is crisper, the foliage is beautiful, and there are so many people out enjoying it with me. Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden offers a nice hike, beautiful views, and is only a few miles from my house so it makes for a perfect destination for me.

Take the main trail to the castle and you’ll find yourself walking through many different colors that the fall has to offer. I particularly like the yellows that come out in the middle of October (usually). For a more challenging hike take the Blue Trail and you’ll be challenged with a steeper climb and you’ll hike along the edge of a rock quarry.

Take a look at the pictures I took several years back.

These are my favorites and really show off the beauty of south central Connecticut. I hope you enjoy!
