BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — The funeral service for fallen Hartford Firefighter Kevin Bell began with a procession down Blue Hills Avenue.
The casket carrying Bell’s body was carried to the church in Bloomfield on top of Engine 16, the company where Bell worked, and under a giant American flag that spanned the road.
A bagpipe and drum corp team from Connecticut marched in front of the engine, followed by a firefighter carrying a helmet from Engine Co. 16.
Bell died Oct. 7 in a house fire not far from his fire station. Three other firefighters were hurt in the fire. One remains in critical condition.
