HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Hartford Fire Chief Carlos Huertas was one of several speakers at the funeral for Hartford Firefighter Kevin Bell.

“The loss of a firefighter in fire combat will never be forgotten,” Chief Huertas said. “Let us embrace the great qualities Kevin possessed as our own, so his legacy can live forever in the hearts and our minds.”

Bell died Oct. 7 battling a house fire. Three other firefighters were injured; one, Jason Martinez, is still in critical condition at Bridgeport Hospital.
