Hartford police make arrest in September shooting

Hartford, Conn (WTNH) – Hartford police have made an arrest in connection with a September shooting at the corner of Albany Avenue and Vine Street.

Officers have arrested 19-year-old Yamil Rohena of Hartford. He is charged with criminal attempted assault, possession of a pistol without a permit, criminal use of a firearm, and reckless endangerment.

On September 4th, two people entered New Britain Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims told New Britain police where they were shot in Hartford, and then Hartford officers began their investigation. Police said they obtained a key piece of evidence that connects Rohena to the shooting.

The victims suffered non-life threatening injuries. Their names were not released. They were treated and released from New Britain Hospital.
