Woodbridge, Conn. (WTNH) — Woodbridge police have made an arrest in connection with the robbery of the First Niagara Bank on Amity Road on Tuesday morning.
Police say 29-year-old Richard Worthington of Branford entered the bank just before noon on Tuesday and demanded money from a teller. The teller complied with his demand, and then he fled on foot down Mettler Street.
Police showed surveillance photos to members of the community, who recognized Worthington. Branford police assisted Woodbridge officers with identifying Worthington, who was now clean shaven.
Worthington faces robbery and larceny charges. He was detained overnight at the Woodbridge Police Department in lieu of a $200,000 bond, which he was unable to post. He was presented for arraignment in New Haven Superior Court this morning.
