Cashier hurt in Bristol armed robbery

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH)– A Bristol gas station cashier was pistol whipped by an armed robber after refusing to hand over money Thursday night.

Police say the Citgo Gas Station at 436 Broad Street was robbed by an armed man around 9 p.m. The suspect demanded money from the cashier and when the cashier refused to hand it over, the suspect pistol whipped the victim.

A passing motorist later found the bloodied cashier standing in the street and called 9-1-1. The victim was taken to Bristol Hospital for their injuries.

The suspect, who is described as a white male in his late twenties, wearing a gray sweatshirt, fled with an undisclosed amount of money. He was seen in possibly a gray or silver car, traveling northbound on Andrews Street.

The robbery is under investigation. Anyone with information is urged to call Bristol police at 860-584-3011.
