Chemical Spill at North Haven High School

North Haven, Conn (WTNH) — North Haven High School has been evacuated after a chemical spill was reported in the school.

North Haven Firefighters confirmed the spill occurred just before 11:00am Friday morning. No injuries have been reported. Officials tell News 8 that the accident was a Hydrogen Chloride spill in the chemistry lab.

The Superintendent’s office said there was a strange odor in the building, and the students were dismissed at 1:00 pm as a safety precaution. The Superintendent, Principal, and other school officials are still on site, as well as the Department of Environmental Protection.
