Only truck’s wheel left at scene of mysterious crash

LEDYARD, Conn. (WTNH)– Ledyard Police have just released details about a mysterious hit and run crash that happened earlier this month.  A vehicle crashed into a stone wall along Shewville Road near Indiantown Road and caused major damage.

Only a wheel with the tire still attached was left at the scene.

Police found the damage on the afternoon of Saturday, October 11th.  It’s believed it happened the night before. Police are now  looking for the vehicle and driver connected to the wheel.  The tire is a Firestone Destination which appears to have been on a GMC brand SUV. Further information though it not known, and police are hoping someone saw the crash, or maybe a vehicle with a missing wheel parked somewhere.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Ernest Bailey at 860-464-6400.
