Black bear spotted roaming Middle St. in Middletown

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH) — There have been several black bear sightings around Connecticut lately, with one popping up in Middletown around noon on Tuesday.

A viewer sent us a picture of the bear, saying she spotted it around Galleria Stone and Tile on Middle Street. The viewer tells News 8, the animal hung around the area for about two hours before moving on to other parts of the neighborhood.

At the same time Middletown Police issued a statement on the bear sighting, reminding people to never approach a bear and also to secure bird feeders, grills, and trash cans.
