Bridgeport to welcome President Obama


Bridgeport, Conn. (WTNH) – After cancelling a campaign stop to Bridgeport last week President Barack Obama is planning on visiting the city just prior to election day on behalf of democratic candidates in Connecticut including Gov. Dannel Malloy.  According to the Bridgeport Mayor’s Office the President will be in the city on Sunday November 2nd, just 2 days before the election.

Mayor Bill Finch says “Bridgeport needs strong friends in order to bring about our vision for the city and its future.  President Obama is a strong friend.  Governor Malloy is a strong friend.  Working together, we are helping make Bridgeport better every day.”   Finch also says “Gov. Malloy has stood tall with Bridgeport from the start.  He’s a true friend we can rely on.”

The location of President Obama’s appearance in Bridgeport has not yet been announced.
