Fire reported in Hartford

Hartford, Conn (WTNH)—- 22 people have been displaced after an early morning fire ripped through an apartment building in Hartford Wednesday morning.

Crews were called out to Blue Hills Avenue around 6:30 for the reported structure fire at a 12 unit apartment building. When crews arrived, smoke and flames were showing from the third floor. The responding crews fortunately were able to quickly knock down the flames. The third floor of the building sustained damage from the flames, while the remainder of the building suffered smoke and water damage.

Other floors in the building, along with an apartment building next door, were evacuated as crews battled the fire. All residents were able to make it out of the building safely. Luckily, no injuries were reported during the fire. The cause remains under investigation by the Hartford fire marshal.
