NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– Pranks are common in college rivalries, as was the case on Wednesday.
Ahead of this weekend’s football game between the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans, Michigan’s campus became a bit more green. A block M in the middle of Michigan’s campus was found painted Spartan green with the letters S and U spray-painted after it.
Closer to home, Yale has been involved in a few pranks of its own with rival Harvard.
In 2004, Harvard was tricked into holding up signs that read “We Suck” when put together.
Harvard has had fun at Yale’s expense as well. Back in 1933, Harvard kidnapped Yale’s mascot, Handsome Dan. The next morning, a picture of Handsome Dan licking the feet of a statue of John Harvard, who the school is named after, ran in many newspapers.
Yale and Harvard square off in The Game on November 22.
