NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)- A federal grand jury has indicted Kavon Rogers, 27, of New Haven, with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Rogers was arrested by officers on September 27, 2014, after he was found with a stolen Smieth and Wesson .380 caliber handgun. Rogers was already a convicted felon. Federal law stats that a person previously convicted of a felony offense cannot possess a firearm or ammunition.
Rogers faces 10 years in prison, and a fine of up to $250,000 if found guilty. He has been detained since his arrest.
