Shots fired in Stamford home invasion

STAMFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Stamford Police are investigating a home invasion in which shots were fired on Sunday morning.

Stamford Police responded to 293 Fairfield Ave just before 6:30 am.

According to police, the suspects are two black males who were wearing masks and were armed with guns. The homeowners woke up to find the two men trying to break into several rooms on the second floor of their home.

Police say they entered one room and came face-to-face with a resident. A struggle ensued after another resident confronted the two masked intruders.

One of the suspects fired two shots into a door and into the ceiling during the struggle, officials say. No one was struck by the gun shots. The suspects then ran off onto Fairfield Ave.

Officials say they found the two rounds that were fired and a shell casing.

This in an ongoing investigation.
