GREENWICH, Conn. (WTNH)– Republican Tom Foley arrived at Glenville School after 7am Tuesday to cast his ballot this morning. He was greeted by over a dozen supporters holding court on steps leading up to the entrance.
Monday night Foley worked to rally supporters encouraging them to get out the vote. The race for governor is the state highest profile contest this year. It is a rematch of the 2010 gubernatorial election.
Foley said he will have the edge after candidate Joe Visconti pulled out of the race and endorsed Foley.
“In general I think he felt that he doesn’t want Governor Malloy re-elected. He wants me elected. He thinks Connecticut needs change,” said Foley. Even though Visconti has endorsed Foley, his name will still appear on the ballot.
Tonight Foley will be surrounded by supporters at the Hyatt Regency Greenwich Hotel in Old Greenwich.
