Danbury hit and run leaves one person dead

DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) – Police are investigating a hit and run Saturday morning that left one person dead.

A 23-year-old Bethel resident was hit by a dark-colored SUV in the area of South Street and Great Pasture Road just after midnight.

Witnesses saw the victim in the middle of the street and stopped to help. Witnesses also say the dark-colored SUV that hit the victim had fled the scene.

The victim was transported to Danbury Hospital and later pronounced dead. Their name is not being released at this time.

Anyone with any information about the accident is urged to call Danbury police.
