Gas leak on Water Street in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, Conn. (WTNH) – Just before 9 a.m. Saturday police responded to a gas leak at 221 Water Street in Naugatuck.

As police arrived on scene they found the pipe leaking gas was outside of the building.

The fire department contacted CL&P and Yankee Gas as a precaution. The gas was turned off before any officials entered and evacuated the buildings.

Four buildings were evacuated as a precaution.

No one was injured. The scene was cleaned up and cleared around 10:45 a.m.
