Route 32 closed in Willimantic


WILLIMANTIC, Conn. (WTNH)– Police say Route 32 will be closed near Willimantic Plaza until late this afternoon.

Police say a car crashed head-on into a utility pole on West Main Street early Saturday morning.

The driver, a 23-year-old South Windham man, was not injured in the crash.

Investigators believe he may have fallen asleep at the wheel. No charges have been filed against him.

CL&P and AT&T workers are on scene repairing the pole.
