DEEP issues moose warning

CHESHIRE, Conn. (WTNH) – Department of Environment and Energy Protection (DEEP) are advising motorists in the Cheshire area to drive with caution due to a moose sighting.

The moose was last seen this past weekend in the area of Nathan Hale Court.

The moose’s have dark colored fur which makes it hard for drivers to see them at night when they are driving. DEEP officials said when a car crashes into a moose, the moose is likely to collapse through the windshield because of their tall height.

DEEP is also reminding motorists to be alert while driving in this area and to keep an eye out for wildlife like moose.
