Man restrains, stabs woman at motel

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WTNH) — New London Police found a woman crying and bleeding on Monday morning after she was restrained and stabbed at a motel.

Police located the 28-year-old victim running down Colman Street just before 9:30 am.

The woman told police that she was held against her will for several hours at the Red Roof Inn on Colman Street. She said the suspect struck her repeatedly with an object and then stabbed her.

The victim’s injuries are considered to be non-life threatening. Police say the victim was able to describe the suspect and the vehicle he was driving.

Authorities actively searched for the suspect and found the vehicle at his Boulder Drive residence.

New London Police arrested Dennis Parrish, 49, of New London. He is being charged with 1st degree Unlawful Restraint and 2nd degree Assault.

Parrish is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to police. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday.
