House of Heroes

(WTNH)– Chairman of House of Heroes Bill May talks about the House of Heroes CT Chapter.

They honor military and public safety veterans (and their spouses) with one-day home improvements. They make a difference in a day.

Since 2012 inception, 40 CT veterans honored with $350K of safety and accessibility home improvements, nearly 600 nationwide since 2000. Several stories of helping – Post-911 disabled vets, surviving Vietnam and WWII widows, Forgotten Vietnam vets, Proud and strong WWII vets. It starts with one person.

They have many events this weekend per to include the New American Freedom Train Show at SSCU on Saturday night. They’re also planning the XCT60, Run for the Heroes, 60 mile Notch-to-Sound Ultra / Relay Race for next Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 23rd, 2015. The goal is to do a project in each CT county next year.
