(WTNH)– Chairman of House of Heroes Bill May talks about the House of Heroes CT Chapter.
They honor military and public safety veterans (and their spouses) with one-day home improvements. They make a difference in a day.
Since 2012 inception, 40 CT veterans honored with $350K of safety and accessibility home improvements, nearly 600 nationwide since 2000. Several stories of helping – Post-911 disabled vets, surviving Vietnam and WWII widows, Forgotten Vietnam vets, Proud and strong WWII vets. It starts with one person.
They have many events this weekend per http://www.HOHCT.org to include the New American Freedom Train Show at SSCU on Saturday night. They’re also planning the XCT60, Run for the Heroes, 60 mile Notch-to-Sound Ultra / Relay Race for next Memorial Day weekend, Saturday May 23rd, 2015. The goal is to do a project in each CT county next year.
